Captain's Handbook

Staying Connected

You're never trading in a vacuum — every other commander in your universe is out there too.

01

The Daily Log

A galaxy-wide feed, part automatic and part player-written. The game itself compiles real events into it — a planet claimed, a world terraformed, a corporation founded or dissolved, a citadel upgrade completing, a bounty claimed, a port robbery busted, a ship destroyed. Anyone can also post their own entry — free, global, and visible to the whole universe until it expires.

Mail

Direct, ship-to-ship messages between commanders — a private inbox with read/unread tracking, no cost to send or receive.

The Tavern

Every Tavern now shares a sector with a real trading port — dock there and "Enter the Tavern" shows up in the port's own menu if one's on-site. Inside:

Message Board
Pin a message for 100cr and it stays up for a week, visible to anyone who visits — a rumor, a boast, a warning. A venue's own host can post here too, with any expiration they choose (see "Running an Event").
The Grimy Trader
Three real services: trace a commander to their current sector for 3,000cr, buy the Underground's password for 2,000cr, or ask for a free Tri-Cron tip.
Tri-Cron
The Tavern's own game of chance — bet credits into a shared jackpot pool for a shot at winning it outright.
The Underground
Password-gated (buy it from the Grimy Trader first). Lets you rename yourself to confuse your opponents, or post a bounty on any commander regardless of either party's alignment — at a real cost to your own alignment (see Rank, Alignment & Corps).
Restroom Graffiti
Mos Oddsley Casino's own bathroom wall — anonymous, free, and capped at exactly 5 messages galaxy-wide. Write one and it stays up until a 6th distinct writer bumps the oldest off; write a second one yourself and it just replaces your first instead of taking a 6th slot.
